Kohl

Kohl is a traditional eye cosmetic that has been around since the ancient of days. Manufactured from stibnite, it has served a similar purpose to charcoal used in mascara, with wide use and beauty applications in parts of North Africa, West Africa, the Horn of Africa as well as The Middle East. Usage of kohl has also been used to cleanse the eyes, lengthen eyelashes and to protect the eyes from sun’s rays. KOHL is therefore line of natural, charcoal, facial sheet masks. The overall visual identity plays on the modern appearance of sheet masks by incorporating a negative space illustrated packaging design that features the eyes, nose and mouth in a more tribal representation that also pays homage to African ceremonial face masks.
